Project Summary
We are seeking culturally diverse, detail-oriented Dietitians to support an innovative project centered on estimating caloric content from food images. This opportunity is well suited for professionals with strong knowledge of nutritional science and regional cuisines who can visually interpret meals and infer ingredients through cultural context.
The project’s long-term goal is to build a comprehensive, cuisine-aware calorie estimation system designed to recognize and understand food across a wide range of dietary traditions.
Responsibilities
- Review images of meals and estimate the caloric content for each item.
- Identify likely ingredients by assessing visual characteristics and cultural context.
- Provide brief notes or rationale explaining each estimate.
- Collaborate with a global team to help ensure broad coverage of diverse cuisines.
Time Commitment
- 5–10 hours per week, depending on your availability.
- Flexible scheduling; work remotely from anywhere.
- Ongoing project with no defined end date.
Requirements
- Currently practicing in the United States.
- At least five years of professional experience.
