Open role
US Board-Certified Neuroradiologist or Neurointerventional Radiologist 5+ Years of Experience – Intracranial Aneurysm Annotation Project (SHS00371)
Project summary
We are recruiting US-based, Board-Certified Neuroradiologists or Neurovascular/Neurointerventional Radiologists to participate in an advanced AI annotation project focused on intracranial aneurysm localization and clinical labeling on head CTA studies.
This initiative aims to create a high-quality, clinically validated ground-truth dataset of intracranial aneurysms and aneurysm-like structures that will support the development, validation, and benchmarking of next-generation AI and machine learning solutions for intracranial aneurysm detection. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving future diagnostic technologies and advancing neurovascular imaging.
Project details
Workload
- Approximately 600 head CTA studies distributed across the annotation team.
- Each case will be independently reviewed by two annotators.
- Approximately 200 studies per annotator, with assignments based on clinician availability, performance, and project pace.
- Cases with disagreement in localization or labeling will be escalated for adjudication.
Estimated Time per Case
- Approximately 30 minutes per case, with actual reading time ranging from 20–40 minutes depending on case complexity and lesion characteristics.
Estimated Total Commitment
- Approximately 100 hours per clinician.
Timeline
- Onboarding and training: Expected around July 27, following clinician selection.
- Test case phase: Approximately 3–5 studies completed within 2–3 days after training.
- Pilot phase: Approximately 20 cases to validate workflow, tool configuration, instructions, and reading time.
- Production phase: Full annotation workload, with detailed schedules and batch targets agreed upon after pilot validation.
- Project completion is expected by the end of September.
Mode
- 100% remote and asynchronous.
- All work will be completed using the RedBrick AI annotation platform.
Workflow
- Clinical protocol review and tooling training.
- Completion of test cases prior to production approval.
- Pilot phase to validate workflow and annotation consistency.
- Production phase involving full annotation of assigned head CTA studies.
Task Description
Participants will review head CTA studies, with supporting imaging available when applicable, including NCCT from the same study and rotating vessel VRT DICOM sequences, and will:
- Review CTA studies for primary localization and labeling.
- Identify and mark all untreated intracranial aneurysms regardless of size or anatomical location.
- Identify untreated aneurysm-like structures as false-positive findings.
- Localize each finding using a 3D bounding box enclosing the VOI.
- Classify aneurysms and false-positive findings.
- Complete all assigned reviews independently without access to another annotator's results.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned cases within the agreed project timeline and batch targets.
- Review head CTA studies independently following the established clinical annotation protocol.
- Accurately identify and localize untreated intracranial aneurysms and aneurysm-like structures.
- Classify aneurysms and false-positive findings according to project guidelines.
- Apply the annotation protocol consistently across localization, subtype classification, and rupture labeling.
- Escalate protocol-related questions whenever clarification is required.
- Work independently throughout the annotation process without cross-review contamination.
- Support quality assurance activities by completing requested corrections, clarifications, or repeat reviews when needed.
Requirements
- US-based Neuroradiologist or Neurovascular/Neurointerventional Radiologist.
- American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified.
- Fellowship training in Neuroradiology or Neurovascular/Neurointerventional Radiology.
- Minimum 5+ years of post-residency radiology experience.
- Extensive experience interpreting head CTA studies and evaluating intracranial arterial circulation.
- Strong familiarity with intracranial aneurysm detection, aneurysm morphology, rupture-related findings, and common imaging mimics.
- Ability to work independently within a structured, protocol-driven annotation environment.
