Japanese GP - New Japan pool (YT rater)

Japan

Project Summary

This project leverages the expertise of medically qualified professionals to evaluate the quality and safety of health-related content on YouTube. The focus is on identifying videos that contradict established medical consensus or that may pose risks of user harm. The ratings provided will not directly influence individual video visibility or ranking but will instead serve as input to measure and improve YouTube’s systems for assessing content quality.

The program is scheduled to launch in October or November, following training and calibration sessions for raters.

The aim of this program is to use the expertise of medically-qualified raters to help evaluate the quality of health-related content on YouTube. In particular, this program is particularly focused on the identification of health-related content that contradicts medical consensus and/or risks user harm.

Your ratings will not directly affect how a particular video appears on YouTube, nor will they cause specific videos, channels or creators to move up or down on the YouTube search results page. Instead, your ratings will be used to measure how well YouTube’s systems are performing across a broad range of tasks related to content quality.

You will be given a series of videos to rate. You should spend no more than 5 minutes on each video rating:

  • Look at the thumbnail, tags, title and description of the video.
  • Look at different parts of the video until you have a general understanding of what the video is about.
    • Often, you will not be able to watch the whole video in the 5 minutes assigned to each task. For longer videos, look at the title, description, and scroll through the video to get a general understanding of the topic. Then, answer the questions based on the content that you’ve seen.
    • Always skip any ads that appear in the video, and do not consider them in your ratings.
  • Answer all questions presented.

We expect a monthly workload or around 3-5 hours of work. If volumes increase we will provide you with an update and work with a suitable deadline.

A training and calibration will be provied.

The exact date of start is to be confirmed, but we expec this to launch in October or Novembner.
