Project summary

We are seeking U.S.-based, ABR-certified, MQSA-qualified Radiologists with broad clinical ultrasound experience to participate in a remote evaluation of an innovative quantitative ultrasound software interface.

Participants will review B-mode ultrasound images of the breast, thyroid, and gastrocnemius muscle, identify representative tissue types or lesions, place regions of interest (ROIs), and compare these with software-generated outputs to assess consistency with expected tissue characteristics.

Your expertise will help validate a quantitative mapping approach, improve the software interface, and support the development of future AI-enabled clinical imaging solutions.

Project details

Eligibility: U.S.-based, ABR-certified, MQSA-qualified Radiologist with 3+ years of post-training clinical ultrasound interpretation experience.

Estimated Commitment: Approximately 7–9 hours across two phases.

Timeline:

  • Onboarding: Around August 17
  • Image Labeling: August 24
  • Software Evaluation: August 31
  • Project completion: By September 4

Mode: Fully remote through a secure remote desktop. Training includes a tutorial video, instruction manual, a live session, and 3–5 test cases.

Workflow:

  • Phase 1: Review approximately 120 B-mode ultrasound images, identify tissue types or lesions, and place ROIs.
  • Phase 2: Compare clinician-selected locations with software outputs, assess agreement using the provided reference materials, complete handwritten evaluation forms, and return the physical forms.

Responsibilities

  • Review study materials and complete required training.
  • Participate in the live training session and complete test cases.
  • Review and label ultrasound images by placing ROIs.
  • Compare clinician-selected locations with software-generated outputs.
  • Complete handwritten evaluation forms and return them using the provided shipping materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the study.

Requirements

  • American Board of Radiology (ABR)–Certified.
  • Current MQSA qualification with at least 1 year meeting MQSA mammography interpretation requirements.
  • Meet ACR breast ultrasound interpretation requirements for at least 1 year.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-training clinical ultrasound interpretation experience.
  • Experience interpreting breast, thyroid, and gastrocnemius muscle ultrasound.
  • Willing to complete and return handwritten evaluation forms.
  • Previous experience as a truthing expert, clinical reviewer, or usability tester is preferred.
