We are inviting U.S.-based, ABR-certified Diagnostic Radiologists to contribute to the development and clinical validation of an AI-powered imaging tool focused on body composition analysis. The project centers on extracting clinically meaningful fat and muscle metrics from standard axial CT scans, supporting innovation in quantitative imaging and AI-assisted diagnostics.
Participating radiologists will help establish high-quality ground-truth segmentations for fat and muscle tissues at standardized vertebral levels. You will review and refine algorithm-generated segmentations using RedBrick AI, a secure, web-based annotation platform. Your expertise will directly inform algorithm tuning and formal validation, shaping a tool with real clinical and research impact.
Project Details
- Eligibility: U.S.-based, American Board of Radiology–certified Diagnostic Radiologists. Fellowship training in Body Imaging is highly desirable.
- Workload: Approximately 350 studies per phase, for a total of ~700 studies
- Estimated Time per Case: ~6 to 7 minutes
- Total Time Commitment: ~35 to 40 hours per phase, ~70 to 80 hours overall
- Timeline: Project start planned for early February, with each phase completed within 3 weeks
- Mode: Fully remote and asynchronous
- Platform: RedBrick AI secure annotation environment
Workflow:

Phase 1 – Tuning Phase: Review ~350 studies, released in batches to ensure alignment

Phase 2 – Validation Phase: Review the same ~350 studies again
Task Description
You will be presented with axial CT slices that have been pre-segmented by the algorithm. Your role is to review and refine these outputs by:
- Reviewing tissue-specific segmentation overlays

Confirming correct classification of:
- Subcutaneous fat
- Visceral fat
- Skeletal muscle
- Editing segmentation masks where mislabeling is identified
- Ensuring strict anatomical and tissue-level accuracy, including correct differentiation between muscle and fat
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned case sets within agreed timelines
- Maintain consistency and strong anatomical rigor across all studies
- Follow protocol requirements precisely
- Perform all work independently in a structured, protocol-driven environment
Requirements
- U.S.-based Diagnostic Radiologist
- American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification
- Body Imaging fellowship training
- Active clinical experience interpreting CT studies
- Regular exposure to abdominal CT in routine clinical practice
- Strong comfort with abdominal and thoracoabdominal anatomy
- Ability to work independently within a protocol-driven research study
